Fuji Amulet 1000 MS mammography system and radiation dose rate at the image receptor

Abstract

Measurements for commisioning and for establishing the performance reference level of Fuji Amulet 1000 MS mammography digital system yielded conflicting results regarding compliance with the defined tolerances for dose rate at the receiver input defined at the Spanish Protocol for Quality Control in Diagnostic X-Ray Systems. It was found that this result is due to the pulsed nature of the radiation emitted and it is concluded by recommending that in these cases dose rate has to be measured at tube loadings typical of clinical examinations (50 mAs or higher).
