Abstract
The aim of this project is to familiarize users, both patients or patients’ relatives, with the effects of ionizing radiation used in diagnostic imaging, both in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. We have developed a simple and intuitive application for mobile devices that use Android, in which the most relevant and updated information on Radiological Protection can be found based on Spanish “Reales Decretos” provided for this purpose, the national projects DOMNES and DOPOES and the most recent documents of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). In addition, useful information for exposed workers is included, as well as a map of the typical monthly natural radiation in Spain.
