Dosimetric verification in ophtalmic brachytherapy with I-125 seeds using an independent algorithm
Keywords:
Ophthalmic brachytherapy, COMS, I-125, patient safety, dosimetric verificationAbstract
In this work the dosimetric computation used in ophthalmic brachytherapy has been introduced together with its implementation in an autonomous software for independent verification from the simulator. It has been developed for the specific case of COMS (Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study) plaques and I-125 seeds for ophthalmic brachyterapy. AAPM (American Association of Physicists in Medicine) Task Group 43 recommendations and partially heterogeneties corrections were used.
